Handmade Cat Scent Butterfly – Sustainable, Soft & Scented

A cuddly companion with a natural scent – perfect for cats of all sizes.

I handcraft each scented butterfly toy with love in my small workshop in Lower Saxony, Germany. The outer fabric is made of recycled cotton, and the inside is softly padded with polyester – ideal for cuddling, nudging, and chewing.

You can choose from three natural scent options:
🌿 Organic valerian root
🌿 Organic catnip
🌿 My own organically grown matatabi leaves

I grow the matatabi plants myself, using only 100% organic clover pellet fertilizer. The dried leaves are completely safe to eat – my two cats love them both fresh and dried.


Approx. Dimensions:

  • Width: 16–18 cm
  • Height: 12–14 cm
  • Thickness: 3.5–4.5 cm
    👉 Please note: Since every butterfly is individually handmade, sizes may vary by ±1–2 cm.

Thanks to its generous size, this toy is also great for larger cat breeds like Maine Coons or Ragdolls.


Reusable Scent System

Your selected scent comes in a small organza pouch.
Simply store the butterfly together with the pouch in an airtight container whenever needed – it will absorb the scent again and again.

🌿 Materials & Sustainability:

  • Outer: 100% recycled cotton
  • Coloring: 100% recycled, Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified
  • Filling: Soft polyester fibres
  • Yarn sustainably produced in Europe
  • Free from harmful substances (tested for baby safety)


Care Instructions:

Washable at 30 °C (gentle cycle recommended).
Higher temperatures are possible but may cause shrinkage or fading – I recommend 30 °C only.

I try to process orders as quickly as possible. I usually ship the ordered items within 4-14 days. However, it can sometimes take longer. This happens if your desired yarn color is currently out of stock and I'm waiting for a restock, or if I've just received a large number of orders. Since I only have two hands, I process each order in order.

Raw materials:

I select my raw materials with particular care. My yarns are either certified organic cotton, certified according to both GOTS and OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, or made from recycled cotton and recycled fibers. The new wool toys I currently have are made from mulesing-free new wool from free-range sheep. The sheep live freely in the Tyrolean mountains and are driven down to the valley once a year for shearing. New wool products will only be available until my wool supply is exhausted. After that, I will only offer vegan products.
