Animal psychology - cat counseling:

How I got into animal psychology:
Through my mobile animal care business in Hanover, I decided to complete a state-certified animal psychology and behavioral and husbandry counselor course (ZFU). I am trained in the areas of dog, cat, and horse husbandry and behavior counseling, as well as animal psychology. Specifically, I offer behavioral science (abnormalities, behavioral disorders, natural behavior (not every behavioral disorder reported by an owner is actually a behavioral disorder), behavioral training (training structure, process, therapy plans), and species-appropriate husbandry (nutrition, care, and interior design (cats), enclosure equipment, etc. (rodents)). I also provide husbandry advice for rodents. I have been a trained cat psychologist since the end of 2018, and since the beginning of 2020, I have also successfully completed training in the areas of dogs, horses, and rodents. I have already been able to help many cats and people in need on Instagram through my regular @petlovede page, especially with bringing cats together and with husbandry advice. My services used to be available on my page: Mobile Animal Care Hannover. However, I have closed this page since I no longer live in Hanover since 2021, so this section is now integrated here in the shop.
My animal psychology degree is a zfu-certified program with the state registration number: 7304416
Cat psychology and behavioral counseling:
I would like to point out that it's best to seek help as early as possible when the problem first appears. The longer a behavioral disorder remains untreated and no effort is made to get the animal back on track, the more the behavior can become a ritualized disorder, which is very difficult to treat, if at all.
This also applies to peeing cats or horses that cribbly pee. A cat that's been peeing everywhere for a year and has become so intense that you finally get around to seeking help may not be able to be successfully treated. You have the best chance of solving the problem if you seek help right from the start.
It's important that you first have a veterinarian check to make sure your pet is healthy, as many behavioral problems can be triggered by illness. Sudden aggression in cats toward other cats in the household, when things were previously harmonious, is almost always a sign that something is wrong with one of the animals' health. The aggression can come from the sick cat itself, or from other cats in the household against the cat with health problems. Cats are masters at hiding pain and illness. Unfortunately, just because you don't notice that your cat isn't well doesn't mean that's the case.
Mergers:
If you decide to add other cats to your existing household, it should be carefully considered. I'm happy to help you choose the right new companion. It's extremely important that they are a good fit, as otherwise problems can arise, sometimes escalating to the point where a reunion is impossible.
Initial purchase advice:
If you don't have or have never had cats or dogs, please seek advice beforehand. Every breed and every personality is different and should ideally be a good fit for the family to ensure a happy life together for all parties. It doesn't help anyone if one of the parties, be it the cat itself or the humans, is unhappy. Furthermore, all family members should always be in agreement with and look forward to having a pet. This may sound strange to some, but unfortunately, disagreements here occur more often than you think.
If you decide to work together, it's really important that you implement the therapy approaches and plans exactly as discussed. If you only follow them occasionally, nothing will change. That won't make your life or that of your four-legged friends any better in the long term.
When you book therapy with me, you will receive a detailed questionnaire (medical history form) via email. This must be completed completely and as thoroughly as possible so that I can assess the situation in advance. A floor plan of the apartment/house, or possibly photos and videos, are also useful for an assessment.
I currently only offer cat behavior therapy/counseling, as I must first successfully pass a competency test before the responsible veterinary office in order to be able to work in dog therapy.
